A voice for the unheard. A light for the unseen. Lea Jabre transforms pain into purpose.
In a world where stories are often drowned out by noise and urgency, Lea Jabre’s voice rises differently — calm, grounded, and unwavering. Hers is not a tale of overnight recognition, but one shaped by perseverance, introspection, and deep compassion. From journalism to political consulting, and ultimately to advocacy and nonprofit leadership, Lea’s journey reflects a life lived with intention, courage, and heart.
Lea’s professional path began in 2010, rooted in her love for storytelling and her fascination with history and global affairs. “I started as a journalist,” she shares, “and later transitioned into political consulting.” With Lebanese heritage and a strong connection to the Middle East and North Africa region, her interest in politics and current affairs came naturally. “The MENA region always intrigued me — its complexity, its resilience, its stories,” she explains. By 2012, she found herself deeply immersed in political consulting, working behind the scenes in spaces where ideas and influence intersect.
But life had other plans — ones that would reshape her purpose entirely.

A diagnosis of rare autoimmune diseases marked a turning point in Lea’s life. What followed was not only a physical battle, but an emotional and existential reckoning. As her health challenges intensified, so did her clarity. “I ended up working in the nonprofit sector as a director,” she says, “and eventually created Bent Not Broken, an advocacy page dedicated to my rare disease.”
What began as a personal outlet soon evolved into something far greater. @bent_not_broken_autoimmune is not just a social media presence — it is a safe space, a support system, and a source of hope for individuals navigating chronic and rare illnesses. Through education, storytelling, and raw honesty, Lea built a community that validates pain while encouraging strength. “My goal was to raise awareness, create connection, and remind people they are not alone,” she says. “I’m bent, but I’m not broken.”
The message resonates deeply. For many, her platform has become a lifeline — a place where vulnerability is met with understanding and resilience is celebrated. Lea’s openness about her struggles allows others to feel seen, heard, and empowered. “My life has a different meaning today,” she reflects. “One rooted in healing, purpose, and service.”
Beyond advocacy, Lea’s compassion extends even further. Alongside her best friend, she co-founded a nonprofit organization set to launch later this year, focused on supporting neglected children. The initiative reflects another deeply personal commitment — protecting and uplifting those often overlooked by society. “Giving back has always been part of who I am,” she shares. “Some experiences change you forever.”
Having survived near-death experiences, Lea views life through a lens of gratitude and urgency. “My journey, how far I’ve come, the things I’ve survived — that’s what drives me,” she says. “Every day I’m here is a victory.”
When it comes to choosing projects, Lea follows a simple yet powerful principle: authenticity. “I choose what speaks to my heart,” she explains. “What motivates me. What aligns with my values.” For her, success is not defined by money or recognition, but by meaningful impact. “Success is personal,” she adds. “For me, it’s about completing projects I’m passionate about and knowing they made a difference.”
One of her proudest accomplishments remains the growth of Bent Not Broken — not only as a platform, but as a global community. Her YouTube podcasts mark another milestone, allowing her to expand conversations around illness, resilience, and healing. And then there is her book — a deeply personal work she hopes to publish one day. “It’s about transformation,” she smiles. “Pain, growth, and hope.”
Looking toward the future, Lea’s vision is expansive. She dreams of transforming Bent Not Broken into a global patient resource platform — one that educates, connects, and advocates for individuals living with chronic and rare diseases worldwide. It’s an ambitious goal, but ambition has never frightened her. If anything, it fuels her.
Lea Jabre’s story is a reminder that strength does not always roar — sometimes it whispers, endures, and rises quietly. She represents those who rebuild themselves with grace rather than bitterness, who choose meaning over despair. Bent, perhaps — but never broken.
